Marco Giordano & Justin Stephens
For Artist Run 2014 GREEN IS GOLD has invited David Dale Gallery and Studios,
a non-profit contemporary art organisation based in the east end of Glasgow.
Established in 2009, David Dale Gallery & Studios host an innovative year round exhibitions and events programme that promotes international pioneering contemporary visual art and provides artist studio spaces within a supportive peer group community.
David Dale Gallery and Studios is run by Max Slaven (UK), Ellie Royle (UK) and
Ralph Mackenzie (UK) all graduates from The Glasgow School of Art in 2009.
David Dale Gallery and Studios are presenting the artists
Marco Giordano (b. 1988, Italy) and Justin Stephens (b. 1972, Canada).
Working primarily in painting and assemblage, Stephens works towards a point of foregrounding all component parts, the resultant surface becoming a compression of
all possible interpretations. Giordano, by contrast, wears his references on his sleeve –
though contemporary culture, etched in surreally colorful stone, creates an equivalent disconnect of meaning. Meaning in each becomes unnecessary noise, but to what clarity
is unclear.
We look forward to seeing you in
GREEN IS GOLD, Hyskenstræde 3, 1207 KBH K
for the opening on Friday the 9th May 2014 from 17:00 - 21:00.
Exhibition period 10th May - 24 May 2014
Thurs and Fri 12:00 - 17:00
