FOLD
A duo exhibition by Katherine Rose and Joel Cox
FOLD is Katherine Rose and Joel Cox first exhibition in Danmark, and shows the outcome of their first collaborative project.
Huge folds of paper interlock to form structures that fill the room. As they spin and undulate, their surfaces and negative spaces are projected on to the walls around them. The structures draw attention to the collision of strict mathematical rules with unpredictable human input.
These same ideas are taken further within the exhibition’s accompanying video pieces in which the paper sculptures are spun, illuminated and combined, revealing fundamental ideas of geometry and number.
We will spark a curiosity in the relationship between the ideal forms of mathematics and its apparent inverse, human imagination.
Katherine Rose (b. 1984, UK) is a Glasgow School of Art graduate with a BA(hons) in Fine Art Photography. She now works as an editorial photographer for the Observer and Guardian Newspapers. Her recent personal work is largely made up of paper structuring and sculpture. She is a member of the artist collective Plats.

Joel Cox (b. 1985, UK) is a musician and sound artist based in London. His band Lime Headed Dog comprises of 9 musicians, creating energetic music with complex rhythm structures.
