DIY Depression / Therapy
Anton Nesretiep
DIY Depression / Therapy shows Anton Nesretiep's first solo exhibition in Denmark. The exhibition consists mainly of two-dimensional work.
The exhibition begins in GREEN IS GOLD which will function as Nesretiep’s temporarily workspace. It will display a large amount of Nesretiep's drawings books produced between 2009 and 2013.
Additional to this will be the front – and back of a large stretched and pre primed canvas. The opening will therefore celebrate the beginning of a painting and not a finished product.
Nesretiep’s process and approach to the canvas will be shown live at GREEN IS GOLD’s booth at Alt_Cph 13. Simultaneously Nesretiep and the visitors in GREEN IS GOLD will be able to follow GREEN IS GOLD at Alt_Cph.

The temporarily workspace and the liberary of drawing books creates the foundation for Nesretiep's self-purifying act. This great accumulation will be studied and through the hand of the painter will be transferred onto the canvas. New ideas and notes for the work will arise, nothing is final.
Anton Nesreptiep (b. 1986, DK) currently lives in Berlin and attends the MFA, under Prof. Josephine Pryde at Universitaet der Kunste, Contemporay Photography Department.
A selection of his latest exhibitions includes Slctdby, group exhibition, Prawneg & Wolf, Bruneck (2013), The Libidinal Net in Contemporary Photography, group exhibition, Heit, Berlin (2013), Limited Media, solo exhibition, Heit, Berlin (2012), It’s Hardly Softcore, group exhibition, BKS Garage, Copenhagen (2012), Peitersen is also founder and member of the artist endeavour, Alpine Desire (since 2011). GREEN IS GOLD proudly invited to the closing event of Anton Nesretiep’s exhibition DIY DEPRESSION / THERAPY
Nesretiep has been working hours and hours on the huge painting during Alt_Cph 13 and Copenhagen Art Week. The work was streamed live and saw the artist in the vulnerable position of working live, knowing that hundreds of people could be looking at him.
The painting, measuring 190 x 340 cm, will now be exhibited in its final stage. |
